A first SEE Heritage Network meeting /photo/

date

20-22 September 2006

place

Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hercegovina

It was organized in September 2006 in Sarajevo, where 12 NGOs, together with representatives of CHwB, signed a document on commitment to develop and strengthen the NGO Regional Network called SEE Heritage (where SEE stands for South East Europe, and also to SEE-look at heritage).

The wish to meet and exchange the experience, force and ideas was very evident and the meeting resulted in very concrete aims and projects. The first of them was to create a web page SEEheritage.org. The page will be used for each NGO to promote its activities and to promote the cultural heritage of its country, as well as to promote joint activities in the region. In this way, NGOs are reaching far out from their countries and also are reaching out together with the rest of 12 NGOs recognized so far. The network will be extended in future with actors from neighboring countries as well with more NGOs working with the cultural heritage issues in the countries of Western Balkans.
